As you might have noticed, Danny and I have made some changes to our blog. Originally called Twinne Blog, we’ve now launched our new site, Twins in Tech.
We felt the new name better fit what we wanted to write about. To be completely honest, Danny and I found it hard to find time to write about fashion since we are so busy with our individual companies. Danny is Founder of The Newsette, a daily mini magazine. I’m the founder of Springpop, a new social media app that just launched on the App Store June 1st.
Our blog was originally created as a way for Danny and I to work on something together. As identical twins, we’ve always been each others’ biggest supporters, especially after starting our companies. Running your own business involves excitement, fear, perfect moments, cringe-worthy meetings, and a lot of learning experiences. We would like to share what’s going on behind-the-scenes of our businesses, with the hope that it will inspire others to launch their own ventures.
I’m currently in San Francisco, after spending a few days in NYC. Danny and I were in the city meeting with magazine editors about Newsette and Springpop. We met with 8 editors in total, from the biggest fashion and business publications out there. Danny and I didn’t really know what to expect. Would they be nice? Would they be interested? Would they basically be Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada? We’re happy to say that every editor was extremely kind, and super excited about our businesses. Talking about the meetings afterwards, Danny and I agreed that showing the editors our products and seeing their positive reactions validated the hard work we have done up until this point.
The main thing on my plate right now: Working with my interns. I have four new incredible interns from colleges like University of Texas at Austin and Harvard. They are all so intelligent and creative, and I’m super excited to have them join Team Springpop! Danny has 5 interns, so I’m definitely taking cues from her at this point.
Look out for our next post on Monday, where Danny will share 5 Things You Need to Know Before Starting Your Own Business.
Have a great day,
